Are you an Urban artist who could use a break from the city to foster your creative energy in nature? Do you need a temporary, secure location to achieve the artwork of your dreams? If so, we invite you to fill out our application!
Artists are chosen through a competitive process. Portfolios of submitted portfolios are judged by an independent committee comprised of highly regarded art professionals. Artists are selected solely based on their portfolios during this first round. References will be contacted for those artists in the final round.

Networking Opportunities
Urban-Air connects artists to industry professionals to expand art awareness and develop patrons of the arts.
These connections include online Zoom discussions, planned in-person studio visits, and dinners. Together, we will plan, organize, and exhibit new artwork for the Warwick, NY community.
The Living Space
The Urban-Air Artist Retreat can vary from one week to one month depending on the Artists’ request and scheduling. The Urban-Air Artist Loft consists of a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, full open kitchen, living room, and a workspace garage with an enormous window for natural light and views of the environment.

The Artist and the Artwork
The Urban-Air Artist Retreat can support a single artistic discipline or bring together artists from across disciplines in any genre of visual or performing arts or creative writing. Artists will be provided with:

A monetary stipend for the artist to support themselves during their retreat.

Materials like paint, canvases, and brushes. Materials are requestable in the application.

The retention of all rights to artwork made during their stay.
The Art Exhibit
The culmination of your stay with the Urban-Air Artist Retreat will result in an exhibit for your newly finished artwork. Artists may also perform at our annual Gala for Urban-Air’s participants.
Urban-Air offers free exhibition space to independent curators and low participation fees for galleries to foster exploratory exhibitions in atypical art environments. We also provide installation, performance, interactive, and video work to support global art communities.

The Town
Our Artist Loft, located in historic Warwick, NY, in the Hudson Valley, is approximately 1.5 hours from Manhattan and is an Appalachian Trail Community. The retreat is a quick walk to a quintessential town that brings you into a community with small locally-owned boutique shops, lakes, and apple orchards.
