Annu Yadav

Artists in Residence: Summer 2025

Annu Yadav is a NYC-based multimedia artist, born in Rajasthan, India. Her work blends Indian vernacular and feminine mythologies with modern esotericism.

Her work

It explores themes of sexual suppression, ritual, and the emotional weight of the gaze. Trained in fashion and textile design at NIFT, she began painting after her time at California College of the Arts, where she transitioned from working in three dimensions to more psychological, narrative forms in her paintings.
Working across painting, sculpture, and installation, Yadav uses fabric, found objects, clay, and construction materials to build charged, symbolic figures and spaces. Her last solo show, Gold God Meat at All Street Gallery (NYC), delves into divinity and gendered violence, staging solitary forms in visceral environments that blur beauty, burden, and belief.
She has presented solo exhibitions at All Street Gallery, JOHS Gallery, IIDR Gallery, Orveda and Quiet Lunch in NYC; Casa Lu (Mexico City), and Throckmorton Arts (California), with a 2025 show at Koik Contemporary (CDMX). Her work has been featured in the following publications- ArtCurrently, Impulse Magazine, Artnet and White Hot Magazine.
